This Tribute is in loving memory of my dearest mother, Adele Marie Antoon, who passed away on April 29, 2006 in Tampa, Florida. Adele was married to Harry D. Antoon who preceded her passing on October 15, 1989. Adele is survived by her son, James Jude Martin, and her four grandchildren, Leila An Ansari, Dominique Andromeda Martin, James Jude Martin Jr., and Michael Taylor Martin, and her three great grandchildren, Victoria Love, Alexandria Love, and Bryant James Martin who all miss her dearly.
Adele lived for her son with all of her heart and he returned that love to her every day of her life on this Earth. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren surrounded her with the deepest affection and truest love, and they were all her pride and joy in life.
Adele will also be dearly missed by her ex-daughter-in law, Deborah L. Harris, mother of Dominique, James and Michael, who stayed at her bedside through her sudden illness and held Adele in arms at the very end. God bless you always, Dee.
Adele was generous, kind and loving. She dedicated her life to a career in nursing because of her tender heart, and she is remembered by her co-workers and the many people who were at one time or another in her care.
Adele was an intelligent, strong, and independent woman during a time when women faced great hardships for being strong and standing up for what they believed in, and for whom they loved. Adele raised a son with a world standing on her shoulders, a world in turmoil over race and class.
There are many heroes and heroines that live in our communities. Adele was an exemplary community heroine because she led others by her example. Adele believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she lived her life according to His teachings. Christ set the example for Adele and she set the example for us. You see, Adele had choices in her life, but she chose the route seldom taken, and although she knew her choice would be a difficult one she did the right thing. And for this, we are all grateful.
Adele loved life and she lived the “Culture of Life.” Adele lived each day to the fullest and she shared her happiness with her family, her friends and everyone whose life she touched.
Adele loved to laugh and she loved to sing the songs that make us happy. Her smile brightened every room she entered with warmth and sincerity that radiates from deep within a royal heart made of gold. We were all so lucky to have Adele for all those precious years she shared with us. Her passing has deeply broken our hearts. Our lives once blessed by her maternal love are now sadly and forever changed by her absence. We can only be thankful for the time we all spent together and we will always keep Adele Marie Antoon in our hearts forever.
You are now in a better place, Mom. You are with Jesus Christ, Joseph and Mary and all the angels and saints in Heaven, with you are finally with your loved ones who have passed before you. Please pray for us still on this Earth.
This is no good-bye. We will all be reunited again. Until then,
I love you Mom.
I miss you dearly, Adele.
Thank you for everything from the bottom of my heart,
and may God bless you always.
Rest in Heavenly peace, “Frenchy.”
Love always,
Your son,
James
